Jungle Bungee Thailand!

Certificates of "Braveness"
After Elephant Trekking Des and I drove out and went go-karting and then made our way to the extreme sports center in the jungle of Chiang Mai and did something that I have been wanting to do forever---a BUNGEE JUMP! It was in a park off a crane over a little pond and Des and I decided it would be fun and memorable to do a tandem jump so we got our leg braces on and weighed in. The people there were very efficient and made us feel confident that the jump was safe and so we took the lift up to the top getting increasingly more excited and nervous with every second!

UP we go!

It's soooo high--eek!

Smile?

Once at the top, the photographer started taking pictures (the last place I felt like smiling for the camera as all I could think of was "what on earth am I doing up here?") Anyway, we were tied in together and as Des has bungee jumped before he gave me the best advice to just look straight out into the horizon and not down--too late! After 5 minutes of considering all my options I decided it was time to go for gold and just jump! And so Des and I counted down together 3-2-1 and leaned forward off the drop where gravity took it's roll and we fell rapidly towards the ground! There was lots of screaming and a wee bit of profanity yelled out but wow--WHAT A RUSH! After I felt the first pull back up, I knew I was safe and just enjoyed the ride! It was nice to have Des to cling to through it all---it was brilliant!  It felt like our eyes were bulging out of our heads for hours after with all the adrenaline running through us. We then were lowered down and grabbed onto a pole where we were pulled in and put down on a mat while they unstrapped us....definitely another highlight!!!!

Here we go!

Lowering us onto the mats

Whoa head rush! :)
